I have another wedding recap post for you!

So far, I have shared:

After Brian and I had our special moment seeing each other for the first time on our wedding day, we took pictures together and with our bridesmaids and groomsmen.

We did all of our pictures before the ceremony, so after the ceremony we could head straight to the reception.  When Brian first suggested that we take our pictures PRE ceremony, I was a little hesitant because I thought I had always wanted to do the tradition of not seeing the groom before the wedding ceremony.  When I thought about things in a practical sense, we honestly would not have had time to do our pictures after AND we would have been eating dinner at a very late hour…so pre wedding pictures it was!

We did some pictures on Monument Circle, the same place as our “first look,” and at Butler University because that is where Brian and I met.

We just HAD to have our picture taken at the Butler sign.  This picture is pretty much a staple if you get married in Indianapolis and you were a Butler Bulldog.

weddingWe also had several photos taken outside of the church.  Brian and I were married at St. Mary Catholic Church.  This beautiful church is located right downtown in Indy, is the church that Brian and I attend together, and it was only .6 miles from the reception venue.

weddingWe have several “favorites” so I tried to limit it so this post wasn’t full of 1,000 pictures!

weddingI had 6 Bridesmaids, and I love each and every one of them!  My sister, Brenna, was my maid of honor and the rest of the girls were friends from high school, college, and a friend from Brian’s childhood.  I am so happy that these girls were standing beside me on my big day.  It wouldn’t have been the same without them.

weddingBrian had 6 Groomsmen as well.  Being surrounded by such amazing friends really made the weekend fun and special.  Thank you to our bridal party for being so amazing!

While we were at Butler, Brian and I made sure to go to the exact spot where we were engaged over 2 years ago.

weddingThis picture is a great shot of my “something old.”  The something old was an Irish Tara Brooch.  The Tara Brooch is a Celtic Brooch that is thought to be one of the oldest pieces of jewelry in Ireland.  Brian’s mom got this for me while they were visiting family in Ireland last summer.

weddingOne reason why I am glad that we took all of our wedding pictures before the ceremony is because it helped ease any nerves, stress, or anxiety that we may have been feeling.  We were all able to just relax, smile, and have fun together.  I loved that!

Question of the Day:

  • If you are married or have been in a wedding, did you do your photos before or after the ceremony?
  • Would you recommend that to a bride-to-be?
