This weekend, Brian’s mom came to visit for the long President’s Day weekend.  It was such a nice visit, and while we didn’t have a huge agenda of things to do and see we were able to sneak in some pretty fun “Denver” things to do!

Here are some of the highlights from her visit:

Lunch at the Irish Snug

Just a few blocks from the apartment Brian and I live in, there is an Irish pub called the Irish Snug.  Brian’s family is Irish, so anytime they see an Irish pub they basically feel called to try it out 🙂

Denver Irish Snug

We have gone to the Irish Snug for a couple of Friday night happy hours and we really enjoy the relaxed and laid back atmosphere.  The real selling point here is that the Irish Snug is dog friendly, and we wanted to take Bernie to his first restaurant so the Irish Snug it was!

Bernie and Brian

The wait staff and customers were so happy to see Bernie and so kind to him, AND Bernie was extremely well behaved.  He definitely made me a proud puppy mom!

The food was also delicious.  I ordered the house salad with salmon (delish!), Brian got the fish and chips and loved it, and Kate got the chicken corn chowder with salad and also couldn’t stop raving about her meal.  If you’re looking for a little Irish pub to go to for a drink, lunch, happy hour, or whatever we definitely recommend the Irish Snug!

Visiting Floral Wholesalers

Brian’s mom is very talented in the floral arranging department.  She did the centerpieces for our wedding in July 2013 and since then has done several other weddings for close friends!  She did a little research and found a couple of floral wholesale shops in Denver, so we took a couple of little adventures to check them out!

We checked out DWF Wholesale Florist and Associated Wholesale Florist.

The stuff these shops had was amazing!  From vases, to fake flower, real flowers, and everything in between it was pretty amazing.  If you are into flowers at all, I recommend checking these places out 🙂  Personally, I thought the DWF Wholesale Florist was the better shop of the two, but they both had lots of fun things to look at.

Pete’s Kitchen for Brunch

Pete's Kitchen

This little diner is just blocks away from our apartment.  The sign says it’s been around since 1942, so we ventured out in the snow on Monday morning to get brunch at this adorable little diner.

I ordered an omelette with spinach, green peppers, and tomato with oats on the side.

Brian got the Breakfast Burrito Supreme.

I honestly can’t remember what Kate got, but we all loved our meal choices and would love to go back 🙂

Dinner with Friends

We had a blast on Saturday at our Valentine’s Day Dinner Party.

Sunday we had a little Sunday Funday over at Liz and Aidan’s in honor of Mardi Gras complete with King Cake 🙂

Lots of Bernie Time 🙂

On top of visiting with Brian’s mom and exploring some new-to-us spots in Denver we had a wonderful time just enjoying our little pup!
