On Saturday night, we went out to dinner with my mom before she headed back home to Fort Wayne. Because she was the guest of honor, we decided to let her pick our place to dine.
She did a great job by selecting Barcelona Tapas.
Barcelona Tapas is a laid back restaurant that features Spanish-style small plate dishes that are absolutely delicious. The restaurant was just buzzing with people when we arrived, which put us all in fun spirits to begin with!
When eating at this restaurant, it is best to coordinate what you are going to order with the other people that you are with so that you can share and sample a little bit of everything. That’s what the small plates are for! If you are an indecisive person, this would be the perfect restaurant for you because they recommend ordering around 2 small plate dishes per person.
To make sure that we were able to sample the most dishes, our group decided to each pick two small plates to order with no double ordering.

Another item we recommend ordering off the menu is the sangria. We ordered a pitcher to share and thoroughly enjoyed every last drop!
Of all of the dishes we ordered two of the star dishes were the calamari:
and my absolute favorite dish: Queso de cabra al horno. This is a tomato sauce with warmed goat cheese that you spread on delicious garlic bread. If you ever eat at Barcelona Tapas, it is imperative that you order this dish.
I always forget how filling the tapas are and often wonder if we will need to order more. Trust me, the tapas are filling and you will not need to worry about not feeling full by the end of the meal!
I love the social, fun, and relaxing atmosphere that Barcelona Tapas has to offer.
Great dinner choice, Mom!

The food looks awesome. I just might have to add it to my food list for when we’re in town for the wedding!
Kate, I would just add this place to your list now…it’s so good and it’s right downtown 🙂
This is by far my favorite restaurant in Indy!
Not sure if it’s my absolute favorite, but it is definitely up there!
