It’s Valentine’s week!  Just incase all the pink, hearts, and chocolate candy filling the aisles of every store didn’t remind you 🙂

I can’t believe we are halfway through the month of February…time sure flies!

A couple of weeks ago Brilliant Earth, a jewelry company that specializes in ethically sourced diamonds and engagement rings, reached out to me to help them out with a campaign to “Create a Little Love.”

This was the first I had heard of Brilliant Earth, but I liked the idea behind the campaign.  Brilliant Earth is getting bloggers around the web to display the word “love” in a way that is creative and unique to the individual.  We all have different ways of expressing ourselves so I am excited to see how the other bloggers interpreted the project.

Here is my representation:

love tennis shoes

I chose to use my running shoes to represent the word “love” because I LOVE being active.  I love challenging myself, taking care of my body, and striving to be a better me.  I know it’s not very romantic to put “love” with running shoes, but I’ve always heard the saying “you must first learn to love yourself before you can love anyone else.”  So if you think about it, the romantic kind of love really starts with the self love…whatever that may mean for you.  Self love is something I am always working on, but nobody’s perfect…right?

On that note, I also have an awesome workout for you to check out.  A COUPLE’s workout so it’s kind of a Valentiney workout…of course you can do the workout on your own, but it is really great if you have a partner to do it with too!

Something about knowing that someone else is suffering through the tough workout with me always makes me work a little harder.

I actually created the workout with the intent to do it with Brian, but at the last minute he decided he wanted to sleep in a little bit…I did the couple’s workout on my own and STILL got a good sweat in 🙂

Here are some videos demonstrating some of the exercises:

Enjoy the workout!

    • Yes!!! I guess I failed to mention that this doesn’t have to be boy/girl couples or even romantic couples…any couple will do!!!

  1. Beautiful picture… so artsy 🙂 There is an organization called “Kindness Counts” attempting to virtually spread kindness worldwide as part of a campaign called feed the deed. My sister and I are bringing school supplies to give to the children when we are in Peru.
