TGIF!  Right?

I know I am 🙂  I hope your week has been great and that you are looking forward to the weekend.

I don’t have TOO much planned this weekend, as I am taking a midterm on Monday (eek!) and want to be prepared.  So, no mountains this weekend, but I know I’ll get to see them again next Saturday so I won’t miss them too much.

Have an awesome weekend and I’ll check back in with ya on Sunday or Monday!

five things friday

Five Things I Ate:

  • A new-to-me Kevita flavor…Strawberry Acai Coconut.  So good!

  • Lunch time veggie plates.  At lunch time, I am usually in go-go-go mode and know what I need to do to finish studying for the day so I want something quick and easy.  These veggie plates are IT!  AND I tried a new-to-me Brown Rice Tortilla from Trader Joe’s and I LOVE them.  I am kind of weird and really like stuff like that plain, so just eating it on it’s own was really delicious.

  • An amazing burrito bowl.  The bottom was cauliflower rice (probably the best batch I have ever made) topped with beans, roasted zucchini, bell pepper and onion, romaine, salsa, and homemade guacamole.  It was pretty delicious.

  • Veggie sushi!  My sushi roll was called a “Rainbow Roll” with brown rice, asparagus, bell pepper, avocado, cucumber, and eggplant.  Yum!

  • I ordered a smoothie (which I rarely do!) and it was fantastic.  They called it the “Blue Diamond” and it had almond milk, almond butter, banana, and blueberries.  Oh my gosh…definitely need to recreate that one at home.  The negative about blueberry smoothies is the blueberries totally get stuck in my teeth.  I HATE that, but I guess it’s a small price to pay for an absolutely tasty smoothie.

Five Workouts:

  • Barre
  • Boot Camp
  • Yoga
  • 4 Mile Run

  • Bodypump and CXWORX audition!<–ended up being more of a workout than I expected, but it was super fun and made me realize how much I miss those classes!

Five Things Making Me Happy:

  • Fall flavors!  I feel like I have been adding pumpkin spice to EVERYTHING, which is probably why I just ran out and need to buy some more…

  • Meeting blogging friends! (aka “blends”).  This morning at the Tabata/Total Strength class I go to, I ran into Marisa from Uproot From Oregon!  I reached out to her earlier in the year when Brian and I found out we were moving out here, and we have been trying to meet up ever since…then we just happened to be in the same group fitness class! Crazy how the universe works 🙂
  • New shoes…I am super excited to test out these Mizuno Wave Rider 18s that I received as part of a Fitfluential campaign!  I wore them this morning and they felt UH-mazing so I am excited to see how they feel on a run.

  • SLEEP…wow.  Seriously, I have been in  bed by 10pm or earlier each night this week and I feel 100x better.  My skin is clearer, I feel like I look better, I am in a better mood, my workouts are better, everything is just GREAT! I love this feeling and it’s a great reminder to me about how important quality sleep is!
  • Painting my nails.  It usually doesn’t last long because I am a little OCD and get frustrated with the slightest chip…but I painted  them last night so today they look great! I painted them Saturday Disco Fever (which is orange) in honor of halloween.

  1. I love the Mizuno Wave Runners, they are the only runners I buy (for running that is – cute cross training shoes are another story)!

  2. Good luck on your midterm! I’m sure you will do well. You should try jamberry nail wraps, no chips and lasts for up to two weeks. My niece sells them and if you ar interested I can get you her info.

    • I don’t really remember when the sign up was, but it couldn’t have been too long ago!! The shoes are really great if you are looking for a new pair, so far so good and I would recommend them 🙂
