After doing a ton of organizing around the house, I needed to get outside and enjoy the beautiful weather. Since I intend on attending a group fitness class at Butler tonight I decided that just a short 3 mile run would do, but I would focus on speed! I usually run around an 8 minute and 30 second mile when it comes to distance, so I wanted to get my pace under 8 minutes. And I did it!!
I ran my 3 mile run with a 7 minute and 57 second pace! That certainly feels like an accomplishment! 🙂
My Watch
My mom got me the Garmin Forerunner 305 for Christmas since I am beginning to do more races and distance running, and I absolutely love it. There is still a lot to learn about it, but I love that it tells me my pace, my heart rate, my distance, calories burned, and I can set it up differently for biking and running. If you are into distance running at all, I highly recommend getting one of these babies (or something similar). Having something on my wrist literally telling me how far I have gone is sooo helpful!!
Lunch
Then, it was time for a late lunch, and because I was so hot and sweaty from running, the only thing that sounded great was…you guessed it, a smoothie!
Today’s smoothie was very much the same as yesterday’s:
And I just got a phone call from my brother and Dad and they are on their way to visit! I haven’t seen my brother since I have been home, and I love surprises!

Tara,
Congratulations in succeeding in running 3 miles in less than 8 minutes. It appears that the Forerunner 305 is a very important part of your achieving this.
It definitely helps to constantly be able to check my pace 🙂
