Tomorrow at 3:55pm, I will have boarded my flight and will officially be on my way to London.

I canโ€™t believe how fast it has come!ย  All sorts of emotions are mixing around in my head making it hard to decipher what is actually going on.

Excitement

I am so excited about the adventure that I am about to embark on.ย  I have no idea what to expectโ€ฆwell ok I guess I think I have a little idea of what to expect.ย  But I have never been abroad before, let alone all by myself and I am so excited to see all of the people that I will meet and the places that I will travel.

Nervousness

I tend to worry and get nervous about most situations.ย  Not in a debilitating way that interferes with my life, but just enough that keeps me on edge. I am worried that I wonโ€™t have enough money, that I will have missed some huge important detail and be unprepared, that I will be sent home for some crazy reason, and the list goes on.ย  All of these worries are slightly irrational and something that I just have to โ€œgo with the flowโ€ on.ย  I think a little nervousness is normal thoughโ€ฆright??

Sadness

The holidays are my absolute favorite timeโ€ฆever.ย  This year, I am missing Thanksgiving with my family and Brianโ€™s family.ย  I am also missing Christmas this year.ย  Usually for Christmas it is just Mom, Dad, Tara, Brenna, and Kenny, but this year my mom organized it so that Grandma and Grandpa are coming for the holiday season!

I absolutely love spending time with my family and canโ€™t believe that I am missing this family event!ย  Also, last year was the first Christmas that Brian and I spent together.ย  We started some of our own traditions and were able to spend Christmas Eve with his family in Indianapolis and Christmas day with my family in Fort Wayne.ย  I know that all of this will pick back up and resume when I get home, but I am sad that I am going to be missing it this year.

Curiosity

I have no idea where I am going after my training in London.ย  The details of my schedule for the next coming month are something I havenโ€™t been informed of yet.ย  What will my room look like?ย  How many roommates will I have?ย  Where will I keep my stuff?ย  How does laundry work?ย  What kind of food are we eating?ย  When do I have to wake up every day?ย  Will I have to study? All I feel I have are questions with very little answers, but come Monday I am sure that I will be able to answer them all (or at least most!)

Now on to the important things…

Dinner Last Night

Last night, my mom made a new-to-us recipe called Chicken Sputnick. ย  It was a recipe that she found in the local newspaper, and I have to say that the reviews were right…it was delicious!

The dish was made of potatoes and onions cooked with sherry cooking wine, paprika, pecorino romano cheese and chicken. ย Everything was full of flavor and so tender! ย The steamed broccoli on the side was the perfect accessory ๐Ÿ˜‰

Breakfast

For breakfast, I had a bowl of Coco Wheats with banana…I forgot how great this stuff tastes!

Because today is literally my last day, I have a list of things to accomplish, a special family dinner, and a family movie outing!

Happy Friday!
