Healthy Holiday Tips and Tricks

I must say, I am SO IMPRESSED with all of you and the amazing things you do to stay on track during the holiday season.

All of your amazing responses to the Finale Giveaway definitely inspired and motivated me to continue to keep things healthy and balanced this holiday season , so I decided to share all of the amazing tips and tricks with everyone!

Healthy Holiday Tips and Tricks via Treble in the Kithen

While I LOVED reading all the responses, the four tips and tricks that motivated me the most were:

  1. Sarah at Creating a Better Tomorrow:  I try to focus on balance!!! I used to focus on getting an hour workout in no matter what, always just eating the super healthy stuff – but that wasn’t ENJOYING life and making memories, now I focus on indulging wisely and moving when I can each day!
  2. Tori L:  I stay happy and healthy by making time for my family and loved ones first, then everything else will fall into place!
  3. Becca:  I try to stay healthy and happy by making sure I still eat nutritious, filling foods but I try not to stress when I eat one too many holiday cookies or treats!
  4. Gina at Health Love and Chocolate:  I always make sure to keep my stress levels low and slow down to appreciate the time with family and friends, which I definitely credit for keeping me healthy and sane during the holidays.

Here is the complete list…

Healthy Holiday Tips and Tricks:

  2. Kimberly at Heathly Strides:  I keep up with my exercise routine and set mini diet challenges to keep me focused. Last year, I gave up added sweeteners and this year, I’m following a body builder-esque diet to keep me lean. It shifts the attention from the food around me to doing something good.
  3. Amanda:  To stay healthy, I keep up on getting in my workouts. This year I started going to a personal trainer which helps keep me motivated and on track and just last week I officially started my marathon training. Lots to keep me active! :)
  4. Danielle at It’s a Harleyy Life: I make sure I get to crossfit as many days as I can!
  5. Caitlin:  I make sure to get in a workout in the morning before it gets past me! And get in my fruits and veggies!
  6. Christine:   I am trying to stay healthy by drinking lots of water each day. I also just bought a bunch of grapefruit through a school fundraiser – so I better eat those!
  7. Claire at Keeping Up With Claire:  I stay healthy during the holidays by squeezing in early morning workouts–that way I don’t feel like I have to miss any of the fun later in the day!
  8. Emily at Perfection is Not Happy:  I work out regularly and eat everything in moderation!
  9. Tori L:  I stay happy and healthy by making time for my family and loved ones first, then everything else will fall into place!
  10. Clarice:  I stay healthy by keeping up with workouts each week, no matter how busy I get!
  11. Cassie:  I stay healthy by getting up each morning for the 5:30 crossfit class! Getting in my workout early gets me ready for the craziness of the holiday season.
  12. Melissa:  I stay healthy during the holidays by running every day . I feel so much better after a good long run. Also, drinking lots of water!! And indulging in sweets ;)
  13. Marissa:  I keep up with my exercise routines during the holidays even though it is busy. Especially during the week. I pack workout clothes the night before and put it with my work stuff so there will be NO excuse not to go to the gym after work!
  14. Hannah at Clean Eating Veggie Girl:  I stay healthy and happy by exercising when I can (but not going crazy if I miss a day), and by spending lots of time with my family and friends. It is all about focusing on mental health for me this year!
  15. Becca:  I try to stay healthy and happy by making sure I still eat nutritious, filling foods but I try not to stress when I eat one too many holiday cookies or treats!
  16. April:  i stay healthy by making sure to get lots of sleep and taking my multivitamins =)
  17. Brittany at Barr & Table:  Being in the middle of a cross-country move and living in a hotel has made it more difficult to keep up with my healthy habits during the holidays, but I always manage to make time for a workout and I eat as healthy as I can!
  18. Meg:  I stay healthy by getting lots of sleep, which can be challenging with all the parties and social requirements of the season. But I’ve learned that it’s better to sacrifice my morning workout to maintain 8 hours a night, than to squeeze in something and be tired and susceptible to sugar cravings all day.
  19. Amy at Long Drive Journey:  I stay healthy by reminding myself that it’s alright to take a break and indulge once in a while. Since I usually go home during the holidays, I also try to incorporate my family into my workouts!
  20. Tessa:  I stay away from the break room at work! That pretty much keeps me out of too much trouble… ;-)
  21. Angie:  I increase the amount of Jazzercise classes I attend and limit, not deprive myself of all the Holiday goodies!
  22. Nicole:  I try to eat healthy at home and fit in quick workouts and then indulge a lite when I go out but I don’t go overboard.
  23. Katie at Peace Love Oats:  I try and keep up with my workouts – even a good 10-20 minute circuit workout is great on a busy day! I also try and drink plenty of water!
  24. Jessie at Jessie Loves 2 Run:  I stay healthy during the Holiday season by making sure to get in a walk daily & eating clean. I do enjoy my fair share of cookies though – in moderation of course!
  25. Maria at Little Miss Cornucopia:  i remind myself to stop and think about what’s important. over-indulging in food or drink won’t buy me happiness..spending time with loved ones will :)
  26. Katie at Love Heal Cook:  I stay happy and healthy by not depriving myself of what I’m craving but keep it to small portions.
  27. Jenn:  To stay happy and healthy during the holidays I continue my regular exercise routine which includes Zumba and biking. I also indulge here and there, but in moderation, and with lots of water :)
  28. Marilyn:  Over Thanksgiving, I felt pretty good by keeping my meals regular whenever possible and working out fairly consistently. Tons of sleep in the form of naps probably didn’t hurt either. :-)
  29. Amanda:  I stay healthy and happy by not stressing over food and exercise. I keep it simple and try not to overthink anything!
  30. Keri:  I stay happy and healthy during the holidays by staying consistent with my exercise routine!
  31. Charlene:  I always watch what I eat and with WDW Marathon in January, keeping shape is no problem, that’s enough motivation for me!
  32. Jennifer:  I stay healthy during the holidays by eating in moderation.
  33. Meg:  I stay happy and healthy by making sure I take lots of walks!
  34. Gina at Health Love and Chocolate:  I always make sure to keep my stress levels low and slow down to appreciate the time with family and friends, which I definitely credit for keeping me healthy and sane during the holidays.
  35. Heather:  i go for runs when i can and spend lots of time with my family! i also love baking things for my family :-)
