If there was any doubt about a holiday being near, this weekend wiped that doubt away!  Brian and I had an amazing time attending holiday performances and feeling the holiday cheer in the air throughout the entire weekend.

Friday night, we attended the Indianapolis Men’s Chorus winter show.  Our friend, Ryan (the one who sang with me at the Circle of Lights), is a member of the chorus so we wanted to see him in action.

The show was fabulous! Full of a variety of songs, very holiday, and just a lot of fun.

Saturday, I we caught up on some last minute shopping then Brian and I headed to Butler University to attend Handel’s Messiah performed by the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra and the Indianapolis Symphonic Choir.

Another amazing performance!  It was fun to be back at our old stomping grounds during such a special time of year 🙂

After the performance we drove around through some of the nearby neighborhoods to look at the beautiful Christmas lights.  So fun!

Sunday morning, I woke up bright and early to whip up a batch of the Lindsay over at the Lean Green Bean’s Healthy Breakfast Bars to have on hand this week for quick and portable morning meals.

These bars are so tasty!  I loved that they used garbanzo bean flour and brown rice syrup.  Two ingredients I just happened to have on hand but rarely use.  I will definitely be making these again 🙂

Thanks for the great recipe, Lindsay!

After making the bars, I got to wrapping….

So many gifts under our little tree!!

Once the wrapping was complete, and some last minute cookie baking was done it was time for our third holiday show of the weekend.

christmas carol

The Indiana Repertory Theatre’s A Christmas Carol.  Brian and I had no idea what to expect from this performance but it was amazing!  There were special effects, the acting was spot on, and the show was completely entertaining….I can definitely see us making a tradition out of seeing this show during the holidays each year 🙂

I hope you all had a wonderful, family and love filled weekend.

I can’t wait until tomorrow…Christmas Eve!
