When I initially started blogging 2 and a half years ago, I did it because I was an avid blog READER and I was addicted to the community that each little blog had behind it. I also noticed that the bloggers themselves had a community and I felt a need to be a part of it.
Of course there are other things that pushed me towards starting my blog, but the community and the people were a huge influence on my decision.
Since I started blogging, the vision of what I thought this “blogging community” was has completely exceeded all of my expectations. I have met some pretty amazing people who truly inspire me to be the best version of myself every single day.
One of these amazing people is Sarah from Creating a Great Today and an Even Better Tomorrow. I’m not sure how we “met” exactly, but we shortly found out that we both lived in Indianapolis and had to meet up! She came to one of my Bodypump classes and we have gone out to lunch together (our day jobs are CRAZY close to each other!)
That being said, Sarah is an extremely thoughtful individual and she has come up with an amazing monthly program to bring a little sunshine into your day.
Monthly Mailers is a program where bloggers, blog readers, and anyone who wants to participate sign up to receive a pen pal. You then find a cute card, write a thoughtful note, and send your snail mail away! It’s a great idea and I have loved being part of it!
Last month I was lucky enough to receive TWO letters 🙂
Madison from Eating 4 Balance gave me the above cute Halloween cupcake card and wrote the most thoughtful letter!!
Jane gave me the adorable card below and a car freshener. How cute!
I have LOVED participating in this program and I encourage you to participate too.
It doesn’t take very much time or money, and honestly it will bring so much sunshine and happiness to the recipient…which makes it totally worth it. It’s a great way to grow my community, feel connected with my blogging friends outside of the internet, and it’s fun picking out the card (at least for me!).
Sign-ups for December are due by November 10.
If you are interested in participating, simply click this link and fill out the form. Sarah will e-mail you your match and then all you have to do is find the card and mail it 🙂
I absolutely LOVE snail mail…it’s so fun seeing something at the door with my name on it 🙂
Based on this post, here are a few similar ones you should check out.
