Despite the snowy side walks and cold weather, the NIFS mini marathon training program hit the pavement to complete the scheduled long run for the week.
I am going to be 100% honest and admit that I really wasn’t looking forward to running in the snow, even though this was our “pull-back” week so we were only scheduled to complete between 4 and 5 miles. All that I could think about was the potential slush that we would be running in and the fact that it was down. right. COLD!
Even though I wasn’t looking forward to this run, I laced up my shoes and headed to the gym to meet up with my group.
Guess what…the run really wasn’t that bad! The days are getting longer, so it was actually light for the entire run. That made a HUGE difference.
We completed our scheduled 4 miles with just under a 9:30 pace, and since I was helping to lead the 9:30 pace group I would say we were right on point!
When I came home, just like last week, I was starvin’ like marvin’. I was not in the mood to cook anything, but luckily we had a little Arctic Zero left in the freezer with the last of some Love Grown granola.
Maybe not the healthiest option, but it was what sounded good at the time, and satisfied my hunger.
Tonight, I get to attend my first Crossfit class and I am more than excited about this! I have read and heard so many great things about this type of workout, so I am happy to see what all of the hype is about first hand. Honestly, I have no idea what to expect as this is an “intro” session, so if you have any advice for a first time crossfitter please send it my way at trebleinthekitchen@gmail.com or comment below!!
I hope you all have a great Thursday!

the colder weather does make it harder but once you are out there it flies by!
Where are you trying Crossfit? I have been doing research and looking in to it for a while, but it seems quite expensive. Let me know how you like it!
Lindsey, I went to Crossfit Naptown and highly recommend the Intro course for anyone who is unfamiliar. Don’t worry, I plan on writing a post that outlines everything 🙂
