Last night, I felt as if we drove 20 minutes away from downtown Indianapolis and landed in Florida.

Rick's Boatyard 6A couple of our friends are moving away from Indianapolis down to Atlanta, GA so we wanted to all get together for a “going away dinner” at Rick’s Cafe Boatyard.

Rick's Boatyard 5Rick’s Cafe Boatyard is a restaurant located on Eagle Creek Reservoire in Indianapolis, IN.  Although one would not think that there is a body of water in central Indiana, there is!

The restaurant overlooks the water front and the boats that are docked, giving the restaurant the “Florida” feel.

Rick's Boatyard 4The seating indoors is nice, but it is NOTHING compared to the outdoor deck!  Luckily, we were placed on the deck right in the sun…which I loved!  It truly felt like summer.

The meal started out with a huge portion of bread.  It smelled SO good, so I had to try a little bite of Brian’s piece.  Luckily, I didn’t have a piece of my own because I could have easily made that bread my meal.  It was slightly sweet, delicious, and very soft.

Rick's Boatyard 8For my main meal, I chose the Greek salad with salmon…and I forgot to take a picture of it!  Trust me, it was pretty with vibrant colors and delicious.

After dinner, we decided that there was still a little room left in our tummies for dessert…so we ordered the Mile High Chocolate Cake…yummy!!

Rick's Boatyard 9After dessert was finished, our Floridian night out was complete.  It was such a relaxing and fun dinner.  We are all sad to say goodbye to Caitlin and Dave, but now we have an excuse to go to Atlanta for a small vacation 🙂

Hope you all have a great Saturday!

  1. Wanted to post you one small note to be able to thank you very much over once more for all the remarkable tips you have discussed in this post. This has been so incredibly generous of people like you giving unhampered just what most of us might have promoted for an ebook to make some dough on their own, particularly observing that you could have tried it in the event you wanted. Those suggestions again performed to turn into simple way to fully grasp that some of us have a comparable desire the same as mine to recognize more and more with regard to this topic. 2. I do not want to come off sounding rude, but do you follow a super low carb diet? It seems as if you do everything possible to avoid carbs and always end up just getting salads. Don’t get me wrong- I love salads as well, but I’ll definitely treat myself to something more substantial when I go out every now and then!

    • Thanks for asking 🙂 I do typically monitor my refined carbohydrate intake and get most of my carbs from fruits and veggies. On top of that I LOVE fruits and veggies so I really crave them a lot of the time, but I will say…that chocolate cake was delish and definitely NOT low carb 🙂
