I pack my lunch at work just about every single day, unless of course I have a lunch meeting.  Yesterday, I was scheduled to have a lunch meeting, so I did not pack a lunch.  Sure enough….she canceled.

This meant I was out of luck.  No appointment, and no lunch!  Oh, the horror!

Luckily, there is a Marsh grocery store about five minutes from my work with a pretty well stocked salad bar.  You may remember my last experience with the salad bar…I did a little bit better and came out with a $5 salad rather than a nearly $10 salad 😉

I topped my romaine and spinach salad with broccoli, cauliflower, black olives, green onions, two grape tomatoes, red kidney beans, cottage cheese, hard boiled eggs, sunflower seeds, and plain vinegar….YUM!

There is something about a salad bar that just makes the salad taste…better!

This Weekend

I am so thankful that it is Friday, because this weekend I do not have a ton of plans, but I DO have a ton of crafting and cooking to begin.  Tis the season!

Each year, my family makes homemade Christmas gifts for one another.  It is always a challenge trying to pick something that will be somehow useful and is also thoughtful, but this year, I think I have the winning gift idea!  Unfortunately, I can’t share with you until after Christmas.

What I can share with you is this super cute idea for snack mix that my mom found on Pinterest.

I was planning on making a holiday snack mix, and when my mom showed me these little Santa hats I knew that I simply could not make the holiday mix without them.

Aren’t they cute!?
