This weekend has been completely fall and completely amazing!

Yesterday, we started the day visiting my sister at her hair salon so that Brian could get his hair cut.   I was actually in need of a trim pretty bad myself, and my sister just happened to have an opening after my Body Pump class.  We made plans to visit her a second time after my class.

After Brian’s haircut, we had a little bit of time to kill and some items to pick up at the grocery.  We picked up our odds and ends and then saw the salad bar.  I knew that after teaching Body Pump I would be ready for lunch and very hungry, so Brian and I picked up some salads at the salad bar.

They were a tad bit expensive…we paid by the pound, but they were so worth it!  We were both starving after class and welcomed the salads.

After spending the day getting hair cuts, running errands, and getting some items for the wedding Brian and I came home to carve some pumpkins.

We also got a pumpkin for Brian’s brother, Adam.

We each did a little internet research for some decorating inspiration, and then we were digging into our pumpkins and carving away.

After scooping out the goop, separating the seeds, and tracing my sketch….my pumpkin was finished!  He turned out just as I had hoped, HAPPY!

Brian’s pumpkin is a little more scary, but also pretty cool looking.

Brian’s pumpkin is looking at mine 😉

I then roasted the pumpkin seeds that we all scooped out.  Don’t worry, I will post a tutorial on how to roast them up later this week!

I also put one of my Pinterest finds to use by making some spooky rice krispy treats!  Not only were they cute, but they tasted great too 😉

Brian and I then spent the evening catching up on Modern Family and just hanging out.  Boy, did that feel good to just chill!

This morning, I woke up nice and early…without an alarm!  I am totally ok with that.  I feel that if my body wanted to sleep longer, then I wouldn’t have been awake so early.  It sure was nice to not wake up to an alarm for once.

I then relaxed with a bowl of oatmeal (much like yesterday’s…) and did some blog work before heading out on my final long run before the Monumental Half Marathon this coming Saturday.

When I left this morning, it was a ripe 37 degrees outside and when I returned it was slightly warmer at 39 degrees.  To me, that temperature is FREEZING!

I was still able to complete just over 9 miles with about a 9:20 pace.  Not too bad if you ask me!

Because it was so cold, I made sure to bundle in my ear muffs, gloves, compression shirt, compression capris, and compression leg sleeves.  I was toasty after I got moving!

Hope you are all having a great weekend.  I can’t wait to share the recipes I have come up with this weekend with all of you!

You’re cold temperatures running outfit is adorable! I strong cold front suddenly came through the south and I’m beginning to wish I had more cold weather clothes.

    • The salad bar garbage pile…what’s not to love!? I feel like I always over dress when bundling up to run, so light layers are what works best for me!!

  2. Awe Tara! You are adorable. Love your running outfit. I’m from the north and even agree that 39 is a bit chilly. My body is awful in the cold weather!
