Good Morning and Happy Hump Day!

Once again, I began my morning with another Insanity workout.  And once again I was suuuuper sweaty once I was finished!  After showering and getting ready for the morning I made myself another smoothie, but this time it was in a bowl!  AND I topped it with a 1/4 cup of Cranberry Nutty Granola.  It was yummy, but for some reason it was sooo melty and dripped over the edge of the bowl!  A LOT!!

It's so melty, it's dripping on my chin!

In today’s smoothie I put:

  • 1/2 Frozen Banana
  • 1/2 Cup Frozen Strawberries
  • 1/2 Packet of Swiss Miss Diet Cocoa
  • 1 Handful of Spinach
  • A Splash of Vanilla
  • 2 Packets of Splenda
  • A Pinch of Xanthum Gum
  • Water and 3 Ice Cubes for volume
No one ever cried over spilled SMOOTHIE!
When I started thinking about my morning routine this morning, it reminded me of an episode of Oprah where she talked about personalities.  She believes that once we are around the age of 6, the personality is fully developed and essentially we just learn more information and gain more knowledge as we go through life and make decisions according to our knowledge.  I thought about my morning routine now, and my morning routine then.
One woman show!
Then:
Wake up bright and early before the sun with dad to watch the morning news, drink (extremely watered down) coffee, and do mousercise  before starting my day!
Working out with Disney characters!
Now:
Wake up, do my morning workout, watch the morning news while eating breakfast (and sometimes drinking coffee).
Isn’t it strange how much we remain the same as we were in our youth??  As I’m growing older, I am finding it more important to go back to those childhood roots and remember to lighten up, have fun, and do what makes me happy!  After all, we can all get a little uptight and stressed about the small things sometimes when we really just need to relax and smell the roses 🙂
