Please excuse the blurry iPhone pics, but this restaurant was SO amazing I couldn’t NOT share it with all of you 🙂

The night before Brian and I went to pick up our little pride and joy, Bernie, we decided to treat ourselves to a fun night out at a restaurant that literally EVERYONE recommended to us…Sushi Den.

Sushi Den Denver

Brian and I are big sushi lovers, so we were excited to try out this restaurant to see what all the hype was about.

We arrive around 7:30pm and the place was literally PACKED, but it wasn’t the kind of overwhelming packed that would make it difficult to enjoy ourselves.  The restaurant had a very “cool” vibe with lots of energy and people that made for a great atmosphere for a night out.

The restaurant does not take reservations, so we had to wait about 30 minutes for our table which gave us plenty of time to enjoy a drink at the bar.

The chefs making the sushi were visible, which was so cool.  I love watching people make sushi because it truly seems like an art.  All of the ingredients looked extremely fresh, and Brian and I couldn’t wait to peak at the menu to make our dinner decision.

Our server informed us that the thing that really set Sushi Den apart from other Denver sushi joints was the sashimi.  I had never ordered sashimi before, but since that was the “thing” at Sushi Den Brian and I ordered a special salmon sashimi.  Because of the whole low FODMAP thing, I asked my server to put the onions and peppers on the side and requested that no garlic or onion be used while preparing our meal.  The server was HAPPY to inform the chef of my dietary restriction 🙂

The sashimi was seriously amazing (I wish I had snapped a pic).  I can understand why that is what sets Sushi Den apart from the rest.

For dinner, Brian ordered the Tuna Firecracker Roll and I ordered the Spicy Roll with brown rice (I had to ask for brown rice, but again they were happy to accommodate the special request!).

Overall, we were very impressed by the friendliness of the staff, the fun atmosphere of the restaurant, and most of all the AMAZING food.  If you are visiting Denver, new to Denver, or just looking for yummy sushi and you live in Denver I definitely recommend Sushi Den (and so does everyone else that we know in Denver!!)

Tell me!
