I hope you all had a fabulous Valentine’s Day full of love whether you were spending time with a significant other, friends, or just showing yourself some love whatever you did, I hope it was special!

Brian and I made a simple yet tasty meal at home of baked salmon with kale pesto (recipe coming tomorrow…!), roasted brussels sprouts, and a side of rice.  I enjoyed cauliflower rice, and Brian enjoyed brown rice.

We then got dressed up and headed out on the town to a delicious downtown Indianapolis eatery…Harry and Izzy’s.

vday 6

Harry and Izzy’s is a restaurant local to the downtown Indy area, and it’s definitely a must visit if you are ever in the area and looking for a tasty and nice place to dine!

While it is more of a “fine-dining” restaurant, the atmosphere is cool, laid back, and the food is delicious!

We arrived at the restaurant about a half hour before our reservation, so after checking in at the hostess stand we headed up to the bar to start our dessert date with a couple of drinks.

Brian ordered the lemon pepper gin and tonic, and I ordered the French 75…and before we even got to take a sip of our drinks I received the text saying our table was ready!

We ordered two desserts to share and OMG were they tasty.  Keep in mind, this was the first taste of dessert I had in 45 days because of the Whole 30 challenge and these desserts were totally worth it!

Typically, when I order desserts I steer away from the fruity or citrusy desserts and go straight for the chocolate, peanut butter, and really rich desserts…this night was no different!

We ordered the Signature Brownie which was a rick chocolate brownie topped with hot fudge, ice cream, candied pecans, whipped cream and a cherry.

vday 3

Dessert number two was the Woodford Reserve Bread Pudding…so good!  This bread pudding was cinnamony and chocolatey and absolutely perfect.

vday 5

I’m still not sure which dessert was our favorite, but we were both very full by the end of our dessert date.

The night was absolutely perfect.  Our waiter was attentive, but not too overbearing so Brian and I could enjoy each other, have great conversation, and have a truly magical evening.

We loved going out for just the dessert part of the meal.  We will definitely have to do a dessert date again at another Indy hot spot!

Question of the Day:

  • Have you ever gone on a dessert date?
  • What is your favorite type of dessert?

  1. You two make such an adorable couple!! Both of those desserts look delicious!! I’ve never been on a purely dessert date, but now I want to! My dessert of choice would definitely be any sort of warm apple tart. It’s my favorite!

  2. So cute. I love dessert dates. My boyfriend and I go to Indulge, a local bakery here in Lafayette, LA, fairly often. Everything they have on the menu is basically amazing. My favorite dessert is any sort of cake. I just love it!
