Yesterday was a day of FUN workouts 🙂
I started the morning with my first official run for my next half marathon, the Indianapolis Mini Marathon in May.
3 miles at about an 8 minute pace…not too bad if you ask me!
After running, I did a bit of foam rolling, but my calves and legs are STILL sore today. It’s a good sore though…
After my run and a shower, I ate some of my spinach and artichoke frittata with a side of fruit and pecan butter. So yummy! I didn’t even heat the frittata, it was delicious COLD 🙂
All this was great, but after work is when the real fun started:
Complete with finger lights and matching tank tops, our gym launched a new-to-us program–Bodyjam.
Bodyjam is a Les Mills group fitness class that is a 55 minute cardio dance workout. Now, to some of you that may not sound like a good time…but I promise this is probably the MOST fun group fitness class I have ever attended. I can’t even begin to explain it, you just have to try it for yourself. 🙂
Me and some of the other Fitness Center staff, and even some of the members had practiced the release a couple of times before the actual program launch so we could be placed in the crowd as “backup dancers.” We had a blast!
Now, I am definitely NOT the best dancer, but luckily that’s not what this program is about. It’s about having a great time and moving your body. So despite my slightly stiff dance moves…I’d say the launch was an absolute hit!
Based on this post, here are a few similar ones you should check out.

So fun!! That was a great workout and foam rolling hurts sooooo much but it is good for you (at least, I always tell myself that). Our gym recently added BodyJam also but I have yet to take it because I have no dance skills so now I might have to check it out. Love the shirts they provided you!
I agree, foam rolling really does hurt so good! You totally need to try Bodyjam, it’s too fun not to!
I am beyond jealous you are a les milles trained teacher, one of my dreams. this sounds like an awesome class, I so wish we had more classes like grit and jam. I still do love my body pump! headed there tonight
Thanks, Alex!! I love my Les Mills classes 🙂 I LOVE Grit! Wish we had that at my gym too.
