The post holiday blues aren’t quite setting in just yet. Thank goodness Brian and I have a holiday date night planned this Saturday and we are looking forward to our New Year’s Eve plans.
We had an amazing, family, fun, and loved filled Christmas Eve and Christmas. I love that we are able to spend time with both of our families with ease this time of year, as it really makes the season special.
I hope your holiday was amazing and full of love as well!
Last year, Brian and I attended Bodypump on Christmas Even morning and when the class was offered again this year we decided we may as well make it a tradition 🙂
We thoroughly enjoyed dressing up in red and green gear to work out.
After our early morning workout, we showered up and packed up to head over to Brian’s parent’s house. From there we headed out to BJs for a yummy family lunch date.
After lunch it was time to snack on these:
Sugar cookie decorating time!
We all got to work attempting to make the most beautiful Christmas cookies ever…snacking on broken pieces along the way 🙂
Once we were done decorating, it was time to take a few pictures in front of the Christmas decor before heading out to church.
After church, we came home for a fun family dinner, cocktails, and just hanging out for the rest of the night. It was a great way to spend Christmas Eve and celebrate the holiday with our Rochford family. Once many of the guests left we did a little family gift exchange, visited some more, then hit the hay a bit later than expected but the missed shut-eye was totally worth it!
Christmas morning, Brian and I woke up super early…although it was a bit later than planned. We were thankful for the extra hour of sleep (and so was my family!) and we headed up North to Fort Wayne to greet my family as they were waking.
We opened our stocking stuffers then enjoyed a delicious breakfast of yogurt parfaits, hardboiled eggs, bacon, and our family tradition: cinnamon rolls 🙂
It wouldn’t be Christmas without them!
After all of our family gifts, it was time to head into the living room where we found that Santa was VERY generous.
We lounged in our PJs and tried to prolong the gift opening process as long as possible.
Once we were done being cozy in our jammies, we showered to make ourselves presentable and got ready for another family tradition: Christmas lasagna!
We enjoyed our Christmas lasagna with a delicious side salad and garlic bread.
Yum! It wouldn’t be Christmas without it this meal 🙂
After lunch, we headed to the movie theater. We always see a family movie on Christmas, and this year we were planning on seeing Saving Mr. Banks.
The theater actually had ridiculously long lines and several of the movies were SOLD OUT…including Saving Mr. Banks. Although it was a little inconvenient that we couldn’t see the movie right then, we simply purchased tickets for the movie at a later time and came home to play a game first.
This game required all of us to purchase lottery tickets. We then rolled dice and passed the tickets around and put them in the center according to what we rolled. At the end, only one person was left with tickets…making them the winner! Mom ended up winning a total of $7 from all the tickets 🙂
After the game, it was time to head out again and this time we were one of the first families in the theater so we were able to pick prime seats.
We all loved the movie!!!
If you are thinking about seeing it, we highly recommend it.
We then came home, played a couple more games then went to bed….we were tired after a long and fun day!
Yesterday, the day after Christmas, we were still in Fort Wayne for much of the day.
I used my new milk frother to froth up my coffee and enjoyed some hot oats topped with berries, peanut butter, and gingerbread granola…mmmm!
After lounging around for the morning, we hit the stores to spend our Christmas money. It was definitely a day for bargains and we were all very pleased with our purchases.
After shopping was complete, it was time for Brian and I to head back to Indy so we could unpack and get ready to head to work today.
Thankfully, it is Friday so only one day of work and then tomorrow it’s the weekend again. It definitely makes going to work again seem not quite so bad 🙂
Another fantastic Christmas in the books for the Rochfords!

I adore examining and I think this website got some genuinely utilitarian stuff on it!
Looks like you had a great Christmas! You always look so pretty and dressed up. I wore a tshirt and yoga pants with my hair in a ponytail. haha. How funny – my family has the same traditions on Christmas day – cinnamon rolls for breakfast, and lasagna for dinner! 🙂 I got a couple lottery tickets in my stocking & won $1. haha.
Thanks, Zanne! It was amazing 🙂 I just have fun getting dressed up, but I love being cozy too! 🙂
LOVE your red lace dress!! That is gorgeous :). Your lottery game sounds fun, too! I got a few scratch offs in my stocking and came away with a whopping $3.00 ;).
Yay for $3 🙂 Glad to hear you had a great Christmas too!
