Good morning and happy Thursday!
The rest of this week is kind of crazy for me, because I am in Chicago through Friday then head to my parent’s house so I can drive to Ohio on Saturday and Sunday…busy, crazy, but all for work and fun (if you ask me!).
Yesterday morning, me and a couple of fellow co-workers headed out super early so we could get to Chicago for Club Industry, a fitness conference.
It’s fun being downtown in the windy city, but it is certainly cold! I feel as though I should have brought my winter jacket!!
Yesterday, we attended educational seminars. The seminars I attended focused on community and relationship building in the fitness industry. Because I am the Membership Manager at my facility, I thought these seminars made the most sense with my line of work.
The first seminar I attended was presented by Karen Woodard, a sales, service, and management training consultant. I have listened to some of her webinars online, so when I saw she was presenting I was excited to get to meet her in person. She is as great (actually better!) in person than she is online, and her seminar was so helpful and motivating.
Today, we will attend one more seminar, a group fitness class preview, and get to walk around and visit several industry vendors.
Because I have my CXWORX training this weekend, I am trying to squeeze in practice time whenever possible so this morning I was up bright and early so I could practice my CX in the hallway outside of the hotel fitness center.
Thank goodness this class is so portable!
After going through CX several times, I hit the treadmill for some walk/running…then it was time for breakfast.
I was pretty hungry this morning, and our hotel does not include breakfast so I was thankful to have packed a nutritious and tasty option for my morning meal.
I added water to the oats and cooked it in the hotel room microwave. I then added a packet of Perfect Fit protein powder, and peanut butter for staying power and had an apple on the side. Yum!
Now, I’m headed to get a hot cup of coffee from Starbucks to hopefully fight the chill of the cold Chicago air.

I’ve done many posts about my crazy travel food. I once made it 7 days (21 meals)! The last trip I was really loving hard-boiled eggs and frozen Greek yogurt creations.
I know you are so awesome at packing your travel food! I definitely look to you for inspiration in that area 🙂 7 days with all meals packed?! Do you literally bring a cooler???!!
How is that protein powder? Does it have a flavor? I love putting peanut butter in my oatmeal! So yummy.
Hey Katie, I love this protein powder in baked goods, oats, and protein pancakes. It is vanilla flavor and I love that it comes in packets because it is so convenient, but I would never recommend putting it in smoothies. The texture is a little funny for me 🙂 Hope this helps!
