Hello and happy Monday!
Brian and I are still in Indiana this week celebrating the wonderful holiday season. Last week, we were in Fort Wayne with the Deal (my) family and this week we are in Indianapolis celebrating with the Rochford family.
I am so thankful Brian and I were both able to take the full two weeks of Christmas and New Years to be with our families. So far, we have had lots of moments filled with family, fun, love, yummy food, and I can’t believe we still have another week!
I hope you all had a wonderful holiday last week as well, and if you are still celebrating or enjoying time off I hope you make lots of memories this week 🙂
Here is a little glimpse of what the first part of our holiday looked like when we were in Fort Wayne celebrating with my family.
I am so thankful Brian and I were able to visit with some friends before too much of the holiday madness set in.
One of my best friend’s from childhood is opening up a brand new salon in Fort Wayne and we were able to get a sneak peek which was totally cool!! It is called Salon Renew, and if you are in the Fort Wayne area I HIGHLY recommend getting your hair done at this salon 🙂 Chelsea has done my hair quite a few times and I have always loved it. I can only imagine that the stylists she will have working with her will be just as great.
We played LOTS of cards with the family.
One of Kenny’s (my brother) childhood friends recently opened up a cool new spanish inspired burger restaurant in Fort Wayne called Bravas, so of course we had to check it out.
I opted for the classic veggie burger and Brian and I shared an order of classic patatas. Everything was delicious!! I think everyone in the family cleaned their plates 🙂
After Bravas, Brian and I visited another childhood friend of mine who opened up a winery with her husband called Two EE’s. The wine is amazing, the atmosphere is very cool yet relaxing, and it was so amazing to see what she had built from the ground up with her husband.
We bought a bottle of the Berraja (so good!!!) and the Traminette. We love them both!!
Christmas Eve we did a lot of hanging out with the family and went to church before some serious sugar cookie making and decorating.
I am so happy I was able to be home for this tradition! It was really fun to be with everyone while getting creative with some cookies 🙂
Not only did the cookies look great but the tasted pretty darn delicious too!
Christmas morning we woke up early to exchange gifts. We always start with stockings and move into our homemade gifts that we make for each other. The homemade gifts are one of my favorite holiday traditions, and I think the gifts get better every year! (thank goodness for pinterest!)
After our gift exchange, we enjoyed a delicious Christmas meal of my mom’s amazing homemade lasagna 🙂
I am so so happy and thankful I was able to have this time with my family for Christmas.
The whole family 🙂
I hope you all really had a great week last week too 🙂 I’ll be back later today with more from our Indianapolis Christmas celebrations.
Based on this post, here are a few similar ones you should check out.

So happy you guys were able to take time off to spend with family! It’s tough to try to cram family time into just a few days (I know from experience!) so I’m happy you guys will have some time to relax and enjoy the end of the year! 🙂
