It is Saturday morning, and many of you are probably sleeping in.  I wish I could say that I have missed my evening post yesterday because I was busy  doing something super fun and cool, but unfortunately I was just working all day and night.  Likewise, my day today will also be consumed by work 🙁

I’m sad because the weather is such an “Indian Summer” right now.  The trees are bright, vibrant colors but the temperature is literally in the 80s!

Workout

I was pretty tired this morning when I first woke up, and wasn’t in the mood for another Insanity video, so I created my own little at home workout routine.

No More Insanity Home Workout Circuit

This workout requires no equipment and can be done while traveling, at home, or even at the gym!

  • Start with 2-3 rounds of Karena and Katrina’s Best Ab Workout Circuit (ToneItUp.com)
  • 10 pushups (the girly kind are acceptable, but try to push yourself with the full out version!)
  • 10 tricep dips on a chair, bench, whatever you have available
  • 10 pushups
  • 10 tricep dips
  • 30 jumping jacks
  • 15 rear delt flies (lie on your stomach, spread your arms out wide on the floor and point your thumbs up toward the ceiling.  Slightly lift your arms off of the floor by squeezing your shoulder blades together.
  • 30 jumping jacks
  • 15 touch downs (lie on your stomach, bring arms straight in front of you above your head, gently lift the upper body, bring arms down into 90 degree angles or “touchdown” position for one rep.)
  • 30 jumping jacks
  • 15 one arm tricep pushups, on each side
  • 30 jumping jacks
  • 15 side lying lift and lowers (stack your legs and lie on your side, prop yourself on one elbow, put the other arm on your waist, lift and lower your hips for 15 reps)
  • Switch sides
  • 30 jumping jacks to finish it off!
This workout will tone your abs, arms, and back while giving you short bursts of cardio to get that heart rate up 🙂
Breakfast
For breakfast I had another bowl of buckwheat, but I added a little something different to the mix today.
In addition to an apple and a tablespoon of peanut butter for some healthy fat and protein, I added 1/4 cup of Fiber One 80 Calorie Honey Squares for a little crunch.  Let me just tell you, this cereal is good.
If you are the kind of person who loves Honey Grahams or putting crunchies on top of ice cream, fro yo, or any yogurt I think that it is imperative that you run out to try this now.  Trust me 😉
After work, Brian and I are headed to an engagement party for one of his family members!
I LOVE anything having to do with weddings, so it should be a good evening 🙂
